The Fishermen's Mission, Brixham
Brixham Mission Centre
Some of the world's busiest sea-lanes are to be found in the English Channel and are full of hazard for smaller fishing vessels such as trawlers. Fishing in Devon can be traced back to medieval times and the port of Brixham is still at the forefront of Britain's fishing industry. Brixham Mission centre has been serving the maritime fishing and seafaring communities of Devon for many generations and is a recognised local landmark in the port. Brixham Mission Centre provides a range of services helping fishermen and their families. Fishermen (and seafarers) of all ages, able bodied, injured or shipwrecked and their families continue to find a warm welcome at our local centre. In addition, the centre is used by many out of port vessels and by the wider community who feel equally welcome and at home. The Superintendent continues this good work. The Fishermen's Mission receives no government or lottery funding and depends solely on donations, to continue to provide it's invaluable services.

Fairmile Cruise Fundraiser - 15th July 2011
The Fairmile Cruise Fundraiser was a huge success with £1229 being raised towards Fishstock 2011.
Andy Sewell from the Quayside Hotel conjured up an amazing feast of mussels and mackerel pittas and those who enjoyed the evening cruised the bay, hugging the coast to the sound of Dave Johnson.
