FishstockBrixham is a new Seafood and Music Festival one-day event timed to coincide with "National Seafood Fortnight". With our "Boat to Throat" experience, we plan to delight and entertain all ages. The core aim is to promote all that is good in relation to channel fisheries by cooking up a storm of local seafood in the company of expert and celebrity chefs. Whilst they provide a taste sensation, local musicians and artists will provide cerebral enjoyment. This all-new International Seafood, Food, Drink and Music Festival will raise much needed funds for the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen, Charity No. 232822.
Our Seafood, Food and Drink Pavilion will delight the senses with Seafood Cookery demonstrations by Celebrity Chef, Mitch Tonks and London Chefs, Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver. There will also be well known chefs from Plymouth, David Ashen (Cuisine Spontanee) and Jacques Marchal (Chez Nous). We are also featuring South Devon College chefs, Moshi Moshi Sushi chefs, Paramount 21, Manna from Devon cookery classes, Wild Bay Crabs, M & J Seafoods Champion of Fishcraft, Bigbury Bay Oysters and Brixham Mussels, to mention a few. Local food and drink producers will provide complimentarity and support from Taste of the West, South Hams Food and Drink Group, Slow Food Devon and others.
Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust with Torbay Arts are co-ordinating a Primary Schools Marine Art and Design Project, involving vital education about the local fishing industry.
Artists Nutty Noah, John Christian and Maya Plass will display and demonstrate.
Display stands from RN, MFA, MCA, RNLI, DMF, SFSW and many more, will provide the public with education about the marine environment, fishing activity and maritime safety etc.
There will be modern and heritage boats, RN P2000 Patrol vessel and Torbay Lifeboat alongside for the public to view and tour, subject, of course, to tides and operational circumstances.
